What's inside

Everything tempo, in one tab.

Detection, metronome, setlists, delay math, and a full tuner — fast, accurate, and free.

Tap-tempo detection

Tap the button or hit spacebar and BPM Tapper reads the tempo instantly, with a confidence bar that tells you when the reading has locked in.

Metronome with count-in

A precise Web-Audio metronome with a configurable count-in, accented downbeats, and six click sounds — beep, woodblock, rim, cowbell, tick, or your own upload.

Setlist manager

Build setlists of songs, each with its own BPM, time signature, and notes. Lock a list for the show, tap a song to load its tempo, and export or import as JSON.

Delay calculator

Every BPM turns into exact delay & reverb times in milliseconds — whole, dotted, and triplet note values, plus ÷4 and ÷8 columns for fine work.

Built-in chromatic tuner

A second mode: a full tuner with a cents bar and strobe view, presets for guitar, bass, ukulele and drums, and an in-tune indicator that glows green.

Dialled-in controls

Six time signatures, half/double, manual entry, BPM history, tap smoothing (instant / average / weighted), range lock, integer rounding, and mobile haptics.

Built for the gig

Your set, timed and tempo-locked.

One tap loads the tempo.

Keep a setlist for every show — each song carries its BPM, time signature and a note to yourself. Tap a song and the metronome is ready; lock the list so nothing shifts mid-set.

Below it, the delay calculator turns that tempo into millisecond delay times you can dial straight into your rack:

Good to know

Frequently asked questions.

What is BPM Tapper?

BPM Tapper is a free, browser-based tempo tool for musicians. Tap along to any song to detect its BPM, run a metronome, keep per-song setlists, calculate delay times, and tune your instrument — all in one page.

How does tap-tempo detection work?

You tap the button or press spacebar in time with the music. BPM Tapper averages the intervals between your taps to calculate the tempo, and rates how steady your taps are with a confidence bar.

Does it have a metronome?

Yes — a precise Web-Audio metronome with accented downbeats, a configurable count-in, six time signatures, and six click sounds (including custom uploads). Beat dots show your position in the bar.

Can I save setlists?

You can build multiple setlists, each holding songs with their own BPM, time signature and notes. Lock a list during a show so nothing changes, and export or import setlists as JSON to share or back up.

What's the delay calculator for?

It converts your BPM into exact delay and reverb times in milliseconds for every note value — whole, dotted and triplet — so you can dial in time-based effects that sit in the groove.

Is there really a tuner too?

Yes. A second mode is a full chromatic tuner with a cents bar and strobe display, presets for guitar, bass, ukulele and drums, and an in-tune indicator. It uses your device microphone.

Is it free, and does it need installing?

It's completely free and runs in any modern browser with no install — try the live demo on this page with no account. It's built on the Web Audio API with no dependencies, and the source is open on GitHub.
