What is a click track?
A click track is a steady metronome pulse aligned to a piece of music. Musicians listen to it through in-ear monitors so the whole band stays locked to the same tempo — essential when you're playing along to backing tracks.
Is ClickBuilder really free?
Yes — ClickBuilder is completely free, with no watermark and no limit on how many click tracks you build. You just sign in with a free Squaresmile account.
Do I need an account?
You use ClickBuilder with a free Squaresmile account. The same login unlocks every other Squaresmile app — like BPM Tapper, RF Coordination and Frequency To Note — so you only sign up once.
Do my audio files get uploaded to a server?
No. ClickBuilder runs entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API. Your song is decoded and processed locally and never leaves your device.
How does the split L/R WAV export work?
ClickBuilder writes the song to the left channel and the click to the right channel of a stereo WAV. Pan one side to your in-ears and the other to the PA, so you hear the click while the audience hears only the music.
How accurate is the automatic BPM detection?
ClickBuilder estimates tempo automatically from the waveform. You can refine it with tap tempo or one-BPM nudges, and shift the click offset in 1 ms steps so beat 1 sits exactly on the downbeat.
What audio formats are supported?
Import MP3, WAV, OGG and M4A files up to 200 MB, and export a standard stereo WAV.
Do I need to install anything?
