Custom sessions

Build your own session from the games you want to work on — pick the games, the length and the listening device, then start it again with one tap.

A module session drills one game; the Daily Shift picks for you. A custom session sits in between: you choose the games, SoundSense mixes them.

Build a session

  1. On the dashboard, under the Daily Shift, next to the show-day warm-up and Review, find the Custom session card.
  2. Tap Build a session. A sheet opens.
  3. Pick the games. They are grouped as on the dashboard: EQ, Dynamics & drive, Time & space, Level & stereo and Quick drills, plus Musicianship and Psychoacoustics. Each group has an All switch that picks or clears the whole group.
  4. Pick the number of questions: 5, 10 or 20.
  5. Pick the listening device — one of your named devices, or none. See Listening devices and phone-speaker mode.
  6. Tap Start session — or Done to keep the setup for later without starting it.

How it runs

The questions come from the games you picked, in turn, in a shuffled order. When you picked more than one game, the same game never comes twice in a row.

Every answer counts like normal practice in that game: toward its mastery, its level on the ladder (see The level ladder and pre-listen) and your review. A custom session is not the Daily Shift — it adds nothing to the shift streak or the shift score.

Start it again

Your setup is saved to your account, one per listening device. The card then offers Start to run the same session again with one tap, and Change to open the sheet and adjust it.

In phone-speaker mode the stereo games and the low-end games are left out of the session, as everywhere else in that mode.

In the demo, custom sessions are part of the full version.
